Therapist’s aim

To strengthen the hamstring and glute muscle, lower back and shoulder muscles.

Client’s aim

To strengthen the muscles at the back of your leg, lower back and shoulder muscles.

Therapist’s instructions

Position the patient in prone with both legs and arms fully extended outwards. Instruct the patient to lift up their leg while keeping it extended while at the same time lifting up their arm on the opposite side of their body. Ensure that the other leg remains stretched and the hip remains in contact with the ground.

Clients instructions

Position yourself lying on your belly with both legs and arms fully extended outwards. Start with raising your leg and arm on the opposite side of your body simultaneously and then lowering them back simultaneously. Ensure that your other leg remains stretched and the hip remains in contact with the ground.
